| Baby Frog and Tadpole Photos can be hard to take, since the tadpole are very skittish for good reason, they do not want to be someone's dinner. The baby frogs are just experiencing their new dry land environment for the first time. Until I started photographing them I didn't realize that they held a portion of their tail so long after they emerged on to land, the tail can last almost a week. My understanding is that they continue to receive nutrients from the absorption of the tail until it is gone. This is a nice way to allow them to investigate their new world, hopping about with a pack of food attached. |
