Gray Squirrel - To some people these little guys can be the greatest entertainers and to other people they are pests. I have found them to be very intelligent, resourceful, quick and determined. I never know what they may do next. All squirrels will protect a food cache from others, except mothers with young, just learning about food. The young can be most entertaining as they jump for joy just for the fun of it, and run circles around the trees chasing each other. If people could play like squirrels the world would be a better place. Gray squirrels will have some variation to the color of the fur on their backs, but they will always have a white belly. This should help you with separating the fox squirrel from the gray squirrel. The black squirrel is really a gray squirrel variation.
